LP® SmartSide® is engineered wood siding. It has the look of real wood, and LP treats every board with its SmartGuard® process to help resist termites and fungal decay.

Warranty, in plain words
- LP SmartSide carries LP's 50-year limited warranty. It is prorated: in years 1 to 5 LP covers labour and material; after that, material only, reducing each year.
- LP's warranty includes limited hail coverage. You claim through home insurance first, it covers material only, it is prorated, and it does not cover hail larger than 45 mm.
- Our 15-year workmanship warranty on qualifying projects is separate.

- Choose LP® SmartSide® for a real-wood look.
- Choose James Hardie fibre cement if fire resistance matters most, or you want factory ColorPlus® colours that resist fading.

Is engineered wood real wood?
It is made from wood strands bonded with resins, then treated.
Does it need painting?
Primed boards are painted after install. Plan to repaint over time like any painted siding.
Does LP cover hail damage?
